How Stadium replaced 20 years of legacy commerce with Omnium
Published 3 November 2026
StadiumStadium had been building on the same e-commerce platform for almost 20 years. The architecture and integrations were old and the long release cycles made every change slow. Stadium looked closely at more than 10 platforms, chose Omnium and went live. In this 3-minute film, Stadium's tech and digital leads explain why they made the switch and what has changed since.
The challenge
Stadium's old architecture and old integrations meant long release cycles. The team wanted a platform where they could test, learn and change quickly, and that could adapt to new technology.
“We wanted a platform where we could be fast, test and learn, and try to change as fast as possible.”
The choice
Stadium looked closely at more than 10 platforms. When choosing between the finalists, they checked what each platform delivered today and whether the partner was a good culture fit.
“We were looking for a partner that would be able to meet us with great speed and listen to our needs, and that has truly been the way Omnium works.”
The result
Change orders after checkout
The operations team can edit a cart or an order after the customer has placed it. They can adjust it to the customer, the shipping or the delivery experience, without starting over.
New content live without waiting for a release
Stadium added a CMS on top of Omnium. The team can now publish campaigns and new content on the sites themselves, instead of waiting for the next release cycle.
A smooth go-live
Stadium stayed live for its customers throughout the launch. When issues came up, Omnium was on standby and had fixes deployed within the hour, so customers never noticed.
“Compared to all the projects I've been in before, we had a really smooth go-live.”
